Stir the mixture vigorously at room temperature for 0.5 hours. The reaction progress was monitored by TLC. The resulting mixture was directly separated by silica gel rapid column chromatography to give ethyl 3-(3, 4-dichlorophenyl)-3-oxopropionate.
